EWE
EWE, means YES in Xhos. The project speaks to a resounding yes at a time where everything in the simulation is pushing us towards doubt and uncertainty. A yes to learning to live with death and damage. A yes to music. A yes to vulnerable, fearless energy exchange. Here we are, witnessing yet another wave of violent systemic betrayal - EWE is a summoning, urging us to connect with the regenerative energy within. The two tracks, I dreamt I was a Sea Plankton, and eKhaya were born in Artistania, Berlin. The pieces reflect on the cacophonous sounds of homesickness and the process of cultivating internal more-than-human healing sanctuaries in a parallel dream world.

This act of togetherness evolved into a lamenting protest piece, a sort of lament of individual and collective homesickness, quite guttural in its re-membering and delivery. What started out as an improvised moment became one of witnessing this ongoing struggle with the embodied violence of bureaucracy & the rippling effects of systematic racism . OneBeat is an initiative of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the groundbreaking New York-based music organization Bang on a Can’s Found Sound Nation.
In our second chapter of the Golden Record B-sides we present the gas giant Jupiter. This brings us farther into the realm of the electronic, yet still grounded by it's earth-like moon. Jupiter features the effortless human laments of "Deixe-me Livre" (led by Brazilian songstress Luciane Dom) and South African/NYC collaboration of Ndivuma Kamnandi, featuring Gugulethu Duma (Cape Town), and Akinyemi (Queens).

Body Mind Spirit” is a masterful collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Àbáse and drummer/producer Ziggy Zeitgeist, also known for his live project Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange and his work with Australian Nu-Soul juggernauts 30/70. As Àbáse x Zeitgeist, they share a deep musical understanding and respect, moving fluidly through future funk, deep electronica, house and techno while maintaining an undeniable organic, soulful and spiritual foundation, supported by the voice of the South African singer Dumama.

This is Found At Sea's first EP dedicated to our teacher and healer Madosini Lathozi, who helped us find our deeper connection and and purpose in this wonderful world of Xhosa bow music.
